History
The club was originally formed by a group of, mainly, KPMG accountants in June 1991. The core founders were Sawdon, Davey, Todge and Goodman along with Richards, Outen, Ratcliffe, Townsend, Ridgeway and Woolf who have since left the club. The membership was further increased with the additions of Merse, Phil, Johnners, Neil Smith and Cairns and they played their first 11-a-side game in December 1991.
As Goodman himself puts it... "Todge was originally the senior Professional for the club. He was ousted after failing to turn up at a Mabley Green fixture, leaving FCFC with 9 players in an era when we were not accustomed to being short. He preferred instead to attend a job interview, although this (clearly unacceptable) excuse was not communicated to the club prior to kick off.
He was replaced as Senior Pro by Goodman, at which point the club embarked on an expansive phase involving increased frequency of fixtures, purchase of the classic baggy strip and regular touring. As with so many "glamour stocks", the bubble was burst by allegations of financial misappropriation. In particular it was the club's 1994 fantasy World Cup prediction competition that was at the centre of the scandal. Although no mishandling of monies was ever proven and no case was ever brought against Keith, a "kangaroo court" (led by the cowardly Johnners) had Goodman removed from the coveted post of Senior Pro and, to add insult to injury, replaced by Sawdon."
The FCFC strip is yellow and blue shirt with blue shorts.
